Profile

Mohammad’s passion for physics started when he was in school. He was fascinated with how physicists conduct experiments to test hypotheses. His devotion toward physics led him to obtain degrees (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) in applied physics. In 2007, he joined Texas Tech University to pursue a Ph.D. in physics with a minor in biophysics. His research thesis focused on studying lipid raft domains using computer simulation techniques. After graduation, he joined different research groups and conducted research in different areas of computational biophysics. He used molecular dynamics simulation to study the interactions between diglycerol and phospholipid in lipid bilayer. He also investigated the effect of diglycerol on the binding of Protein Kinase Cα domain to lipid bilayer. Mohammad joined PharmCADD in May of 2021. Currently, his research focuses on force field parametrization using Quantum Mechanics calculations and modeling lipid vesicles using molecular dynamics simulation. Mohammad enjoys traveling and playing soccer and video games.
